Description
Original diagnosis after Case (1978) p. 22 [4822]: A species of large size, possibly the largest of its genus (in North America), though smaller than the Edaphodontidae; mandibular toothplates ranging in maximum dimension from 4 to 8 cm. Dominant tritoral element of the mandible formed by fusion of the median and internal posterior tritors to form a distinctive crushing plate.
