Citation: Hemipristis tanakai Tomita, Yabumoto & Kuga, 2023: In: Database of fossil elasmobranch teeth www.shark-references.com, World Wide Web electronic publication, Version 08/2026
Description
Original diagnosis after Tomita, Yabumoto & Kuga, 2023 [32471]: Hemipristis tanakai sp. nov. is distinguished from other congeners based on the presence of the following characters: the height of the upper jaw tooth exceeds 1.5 cm; the number of mesial serrations is less than five; and the apical-most denticle of the mesial serrations is more distantly located from the baseline of the root compared with that of the distal serrations (refer to the “comparison” section for details).
