Original diagnosis after Mannering & Hiller, 2008 [4762]: Chlamydoselachus with robust upright cusps that lack strong ornament; no coronal torque (sensu Pfeil 1983; see also Richter and Ward 1990); no intermediate cusplets and a concave labial surface on the root.
