Description
Original diagnosis after Villafaña et al., 2025 [35047]: The new species of Dasyatis is characterized by the combination of the following characters: an irregular transverse crest dividing the labial and lingual faces of the crown. Perpendicular protuberances of different sizes ornamenting the transverse crest and the lingual crown face boundary. The labial face of the crown strongly ornamented by granulae and its medial region distinctly depressed. In occlusal view, the labial visor is slightly convex. In profile view the labial face of the crown is weakly concave. The medial region of the lingual visor has a distinctive notch.
