Short Description
Diagnosis after Prokofiev, 2019 (following Bessednov) [27220]: a long caudal fin equal to interdorsal distance and black coloration of tips of dorsal and caudal fins in living fish disappearing after preservation. It differs from the close species N. pectoralis (Garman) from the Massachusetts Bay in the lesser length of the labial folds, greater length of the mouth and black colouration of anterior margins of both dorsal and caudal fins (#3094).
