Original diagnose after Guinot et al. (2013) p. 617 [24889]: Parascylliid characterized by small teeth (less than 1.5 mm high) with moderate gradient monognathic heterodonty. Cusp strongly bent lingually, straight and symmetrical in symphyseal teeth, bent to strongly inclined distally in anterior and lateral teeth respectively; sharp cutting edges. Pair of lateral cusplets in symphyseal teeth, anterior and lateral teeth with mesial, distal or no incipient cusplets. Triangular cuspwith verywell marked mediobasal depression overhung by a strong labial bulge. Ornament of short parallel ridges on the labial bulge and occasionally on the depression; parallel ridges can develop into a sharp horizontal crest above the labial bulge; crown overhung by the root. Low root with flat basal face; asymmetrical and flared lobes in anterior and lateral teeth; nutritive groove generally open but closed in posterior and juvenile teeth.
